Love the article!

No. Most people are nice to your face, but aren't behind your back, like when voting!!

PS.. I think it's rather odd that some of you folks are browsing through the Gay category and answering questions about gay stuff... why?

Yes most not all have a pretty negative view of them. However some are worse then others. Catholics talk about how you gonna go to hell. In muslim countries like saudia arabia(our ally) gays are stoned to death.(no not by smoking weed) Science proves that gay people are born different. Religious people say its unnatural. There are species other the humans that have gay sex. Its not moral to punish someone for how they were born. There argument falls apart. Just like when the Catholic church was teaching that the sun revolves around the earth. Gay people should be happy that religion is not the law.

Yes and No. There are some religious people who believe in treating other people with respect and kindness without being judgmental. There are also religious people who portray their religion as giving them a license to hate, act as if they are without sin, and say that they are better and more godly than others. It varies with particular denominations within the various religions, but some choose to live by the loving words of their religion and some choose to use the most hateful words of their religion to portray themselves as better than others.

I'm Gay, and many of my friends are religious conservatives (I'm an old Liberal Hipppie) and to their credit, none of my Christian friends or relatives, with the exception of one of my nieces, has ever treated me with anything other than love and respect. I have, however, been treated with disrespect by Muslims. Most of my friends and lovers are Black, and in the Black community Islam is everywhere. Sometimes, I do get treated as a second-class citizen by the Muslims or Nation of Islam people.

there is a scripture in the bible that says something about the evils of men turning to men and women turning to women and ignoring/turning from the natural way of life. i read it sometime last week but i don't remember where... psalms or revelations? well anyway i have nothing against gay people and i really think that love is basically love. also i think they should be allowed to marry, it's just not fair. really.. not many people have anything against homosexuals, just those that are seem to be very vocal about it.

I'm afraid that the answer is yes. But it would be worng for Gays to think that being a Christian automatically assumes guilt. I am a bi Christian. I know how many in the evangelical world feel about Gays. Me, I put more importance on my relatioonship with God than any 'churches' opinion.

No, I don't think that most religious people treat gays badly---I do think that there is a very loud vocal minority of bigots out there, however.

Hopefully not. I know many gays and I treat them nice. They like to speak to me, because they know I am not against them. They can tell who is against them. And it is not just religious people. So sad and too bad. Live and let live.

There are members in many religions that treat homosexuals badly but there are also many Christian and Jewish denominations that welcome homosexuals with open arms and many Muslims, Buddhists, and Hindus that are open and gracious to homosexuals. The hatred is just one segment of a religion trying to make itself heard.

its kind of half and half. 1/2 religious people think you should just accept others for who they are and the other 1/2 is completely against it
