is the worst way to die?

For me it would be from cancer...because I lost a dear friend to it.

Being impaled to death. I once read a historical book that described the most horrible death I could ever imagine. First it started out by tying the hands to 2 poles, then tying the feet to two horses. Then smacking the horses, and making every joint and muscle of the man's body be out of place, which is extremely painful. Then after leaving him hanging from the branch of a tall tree for 2 days, enough to leave him weakened but not enough to kill him. Afterwards, starting a fire underneath the almost-dead body, to roast him slowly to death. He cannot move, for every part of his body is misplaced, he is too weak to scream, so the pain and words choke in his throat while inch by inch of his body is slowly dying until half of his body is no more, while his heart still beats slowly. Then in the 3rd day, after all that suffering, he dies by enormous loss of blood.

I believe it is called scleroderma. It's very painful and your organs and skin harden. A family member of one of my friends just past away a few months ago from it. Poor thing was only 43. Anything slow and painful is the worst way to die.

Probably at the hands of an ex ex who is now locked up in jail, should he ever get out, I wouldn't know what to do.

I think ALS [Lou Gherig's Disease] as you slowly suffocate. I think any disease that draws out pain is awful - but you do get a chance to tell people you love them and they you.

Drowning! I have nightmares about it so it's like my biggest fear that it's how I am going to die.
