I was instructed by my teacher (Self Discovery class, she is a Medium) to bless my prior home as it is on the market forsale. Since I lived there 3 years and I was unhappy there and had bad things happen she told me the house needed a blessing in order to sell it as it hold bad energy.
She had me burn loose tobacco and bless the interior then spread tobacco in a circle around the exterior. Has anyone heard of this?

I am a shaman and all that you truly need is the intent of your heart to go out to that which desire to cleanse . The magic is in the person not the power objects. It is the persons belief in self that give the "magic " to the objects. This a common practise and very acceptable. I However suggest going within and healing yourself as the external is a reflection of the internal.Trust yourself and your connect to Source. The more that we are "clean " the greater the magic. Magic is actually physics on a level that is easily explained . Even though all Miracles are unexplained quantum happenings. If you are in tune with Great Spirit all is possible as there is no time /space. All is Now. If you are going to go through the ritual use salt as well, this will assist in negating the effects of negative energy . By setting the intent is still best and visualize it. Ask here to "tap " in to this and have her feel this truth.
If she is worth her salt she be able to "see" that this works. Do not give your power away to that which is outside of yourself. Unconditional Love is the most powerful force in all of creation.

What I do in my home is burn a sage, cedar, tobacco mix bundle. I make sure to open all the windows to allow the negativity to leave. You start on the top floor and make sure to get all the corners of the all the rooms including closets. During this you visualize all the negative energy leaving your home. I like to say a prayer or chant like doing this. After the smudging I then wash the walls and floors with a mixture of water and florida water. I throw the used water out of the door towards the east. I would then sprinkle sea salt and dragons blood by the entry doors and windows. If I don't have time to do all of it I alternate. Smudging one month, washing the next but I always do the salt at the doors. I do this before I move into any house and usually once a month. The more you do it the easier it gets.

I have honestly never heard of that.
However, if you want to bless your home there are many different paths to take. My family burns sage starting at the top story of the house and working to the main floor, then up the basement and through the main floor. Then once out side we sprinkle sea salt over the thresholds. All this is done with the thought of peace and safety. No ill thought should go through your mind during this cleansing. Some say to picture light and bless all with that image, however, good thoughts and peaceful hopes can do the same thing.

1st, get u some sage and a braid of sweet grass and face the east and acknowledge the "spirits" if u believe that to be so-if theres saddness ur leaving behind then stand outside and release it. toss a bit of tobacco towards the east and tell the spirits to leave....dont fall into the STUFF hawkchild sez....again a true person of med..or other holystuff doings isnt real if they gotta tell you they r SHAMEN.....good luck...anywhere u go just toss a bit of tobacco out to the spirits and ask for good things to happen for everyone-not just urself..

Sounds like she was creating a sort of medicine wheel around the place. the smoke of the tobacco is to drive out the bad spirits and the circle would prevent them from returning.

yes you might want to burn a sage bundle and do a small medicine wheel on the east side of the house,plenty of info on web for info good luck...be sure to release your unresolved with your ceremony our you will take it with you to your next home
