Any good anime containing magic?

Magic Knight Rayearth, it is all about magic and a tiny bit of violence

I know this is probably not the answer you're looking for, but it seems that there is a sad lack of anime of any type that doesn't have either killing, violence, sex, or insanity of some kind in it. If it doesn't have one, it has another, or more than one type. The only anime series I can think of offhand that doesn't have too much killing and violence is Vandread, but there's no magic in it, and it still has some mild violence.

Well Sailor Moon does lack in violence. But the killing part is right in there. Even though its not gorey. Tokyo Mew Mew, though, is more toned down with that stuff and it has plenty of magical goodness. So thats good to watch. Also Ojamo Doremi, and the newly recent Powerpuff Girls Z. I personally hate that one but its also a good example.

If you want magical anime, just watch Sailor Moon or Magic Knight Rayearth. But I don't encourage you to do so. =)
In fact, I'd recommend watching the violent anime.

"Haibane Renmei", it's a 13 episodes series. I think it's somekind of magical story without magic inside it. But it does gives the mystery feels, n u'll wonder where r the story took place, is there really a plce like that, who r they, r they really angels......
I know it's kind of old anime, released in 2002 or 2003, I'm not sure, but u should try it.

Try The Record of Lodoss War and the Heroic Legend of Arsalan... both contain war and fighting but not a great deal of violence or gore.

fruits basket is nice, kare kano is a love story (kinda sappy), and prince of tennis is very..... full of tennis (u dont need to know tennis to get the humor in this series.)

you can watch the fruit baskets and there is no killing but there is some beating up of people
