Without a doubt! This year screams for a playoff system. You have no less than six teams who could win it all. Keep the bowl system and make the BCS bowls a playoff. Two many teams are gonna get shafted this year with only two teams having the chance to win it all. I for one would love to see OSU, Mich, USC, Notre Dame, Florida, and maybe Ark, ACC winner, or Big 12 winner actually have to win a couple of games in the "postseason" to EARN a championship in NCAA football. To tell the fans that only two teams are worthy of the championship when there are over 100 div 1 football teams is crazy. March Madness needs to to be brought to DEC/JAN in the form of a six or eight team playoff system.

The BCS isn't really screwed up, it just has flaws like anything else. Right now, the question is who is #2? If there were a playoff, who makes it? Would a team that doesn't win its conference (Michigan) get in over a team that goes unbeaten (Boise State)? What about the winner of the ACC, Big East, or Big 12? Most proponents argue for 6 (maybe 8) teams. Who from the Big East--Rutgers, West Virginia, or Louisville? Would an ACC team be invited? Would Boise State be invited? Most of the proposals I have heard have included: Ohio State, Michigan, USC, Notre Dame, Florida, Texas (for 6) and add Arkansas and (either Cal or a Big East team if you have 8).

Are there any automatic bids? Do the Big 6 conferences have someone in the playoff or is it based only on the top teams according to a conglomeration of computer polls?

Even March Madness has problems when teams on the "bubble" are left off. it's the same thing now. Michigan, USC, Notre Dame, Arkansas, Florida, West Virginia, Louisville, maybe even Texas are all on the bubble and only 1 can advance to the dance.

Do the mathematics, the SEC is by utilising far the toughest convention era. only look on the twelve months end standings. The question isn't in spite of if Georgia merits the prospect, yet in spite of if or no longer Ohio State could be there. i think of the final matchup interior the country could be 2 communities I dislike LSU and Georiga. Ohio State basiclaly performs females faculties all twelve months, then hangs their hat on Michican who by utilising the way is a shaggy dog tale this twelve months. As of the twelve months end standings they have performed only a million team that finished interior the best 25 and by utilising the way they lost that one at abode. final twelve months the SEC substitute into underestimated and the Gators swallowed Ohio state like a malicious program. i visit swallow my delight and pull like hell for LSU so the BCS will awaken, after the SEC destroys them yet another time this twelve months. i do no longer think of the sport can be worth staring at. Georgia and LSU, LSU merits the shot as a results of utilising defeating Georgia and triumphing the SEC.

I could run the BCS better. If there is a god, i hope he gives the BCS some brains and put the right teams in the right bowl games. The Bucks are going to AZ, I think FL or USC should meet us there, Michigan should go Rose bowl, with who ever does not go to the National title game. GO BUCKS!!!

The BCS is the worst invention in the history of sports. It is horrible and needs to be banished.

I have no clue as to how it works. The logic escapes me. People talk about strength of schedules etc. So tell me how a West Virginia team is ranked seventh when they have only played one ranked team which they lost. It's crazy.

Yes. It's the biggest pile of horsecrap I've ever seen! If you have to PLAY to see who's the best in your conference, then you should PLAY to see who's best in the nation, not have two teams win a "vote".
