I think making sure that all parts of your life are balanced and working is the way to go. I think it would be good to talk with your son's father and see where he is at and whether you both think a married relationship could work for the two of you. If you both come to the conclusion it can't, then concentrate on other parts of your life: your great relationship with your son, contributions to the community, your spirituality, fun, other family and friends...These areas are important regardless of whether you are in a great love relationship or not. If your life is balanced, then happiness will follow whether or not you're in a relationship. All the best to you!

Is it an urge to "get married" or "be married"? It's normal to want to have the bond of marriage. Choose wisely; treat marriage as a life-long commitment.

Have you talked about it with him? Maybe just chats, not serious, so that he didn't feel oushed around.
Make him spend more time with you and the child but don't be too pushy. Perhaps host little party now and then invite his friends over or go with them more often with the child when appropriate. This will build his friends' bond with you and he may feel more comfortable to commit since he didn't feel like losing his time with the guys. Good luck.

They say the first seven years will always be the hardest. Well, I went through seven years of pure hell and two weeks ago he walked. Make sure this is really what you want. I never seen it coming. Just take life easy and have fun.

I would say first you have to be in love and be shure you both are. Marrige is a big comiment and you have to be shure that your ready for it and that you really want it.
