How do I get an equity card?

Question

I'm on my way to becoming an actor and I was wondering how I would be able to get an equity card. I love theatre but I wuld also love it if it helped to pay the bills too. Can anyone help me??

i would recommend trying to work for a while before joining equity. you'll build up a resume and you won't have the restrictions of being in the union. there are several methods of joining, though, and they are all outlined here:
