The world was polarized into two great blocks :

A.- Capitalism
B.- Communism

Each block truly believed that their social and economic philosophy was the correct one and the solution to world problems.

Time has shown that finally Capitalism survived while Communism shamefully failed, not only not solving misery problems but deepening them and causing more pain and suffering on the population.

This division of world opinion from 1945 to 1989 caused numerous confrontations, wars and death in all continents except Australia, each trying to impose their philosophy.

The Situation after WWII? You mean the Cold War? It was only the most significant discursive battle in geopolitics in the latter 20th century?

but anyways:

Led to Mcarthyism and the Domino theory (you know reds under the beds, and that if a state is challenged by communist forces the US would support democracy)

These measures led to US involvement in Korea and Vietnam

The ideological war led to changes in the way we view the world. Changes that are still felt today...

say it with me "neo conservatism"

It led to huge expenditure on armaments in the Cold War and impoverished all populations. The Soviet Union cracked first.
