Let me tell ya, I'm pretty traditional and usually don't like "NEW" Christmas music. But several years ago I got Celine Dions Christmas album, and it has so many great songs on it. She does some of the great classics and some new ones , which are now favorites in my home.
The Windham Hill artists also have a series of instrumental/vocal and I love those.
Glenn Miller has one called "in the CHristmas Mood" which is all swingy and fun. I love that one.
John Denver's Rocky Mountain Christmas is one of our favorites too.
I don't know if you know who Linda Eder is, but she has an AMAZING voice and I love her Christmas Album.
Hope thats a start.

Go down to your local FYE or Sam Goody store. They will have a Christmas music section set up. Everything from Aly and AJ to the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. Even local radio stations put out Christmas Mix CD's. They people who work there are very helpful and if there is something you are looking for, they can help you get it.
As for my suggestion, try the Trans-Siberian Orchestra, Manheim Steamroller, Burl Ives (The guy that wrote the music to the clay-mation versions of Rudolf the Red Nosed Reindeer), and Kenny Rodgers. Who is your mom's favorite artist? They almost certainly have a Christmas album out.
Hope that helped a little.

I've always loved Boney M...they are upbeat and happy tunes...there are so many it's hard to pick just one...I still like the oldies like Karen Carpenter too...but the moderns of today have put out some great ones...I love them all and listen to our local station that plays christmas music 24/7 starting now right up till Christmas...so I don't really need any cds..just play that station all day long!
The closer I get to Christmas the more I want to hear the really spiritual tunes...like O Holy Night etc...I love Celine Dion, Andrea Bocelli and Josh Groban...amazing voices...

MercyMe has an quite exciting, loud Christmas cd. i be attentive to they seem to be a Christian band so in case you at the instant are not attentive to them you ought to get the impact that they had be all gospel-ly or something. yet, i could very just about evaluate myself a Christmas cd afficiondo (I swear i'm going to purchase something that looks Christmas-y) and it is the main suitable exciting cd with upbeat music.

Check out Jim Brickman's "Christmas Themes". Beautiful piano arrangements of classic Christmas carols. One of my favorites!

"Sing, Choirs of Angels" by the Mormon Tabernacle Choir. Its new, contemporary and absolutely beautiful. Not the old hymn. Amazing arrangements of old and new tunes and a full orchestra. I've given them to lots of people and everyone loves it.

You should of told us more about your mom. What does she like? Josh Groban is fantastic, if she likes the soft romantic voice. I like Michael Bolton, Johnny Mathis.
