MONTESSORI toys are designed to stimulate the preschool child's innate desire to learn.

The best learning games are, of course, the ones with the tv off.
Games should encourage wonder and imagination. Pattern wooden blocks and boards are VERY good for math skills, Tell-a-story game for imagination and language skills, music (especially piano) for both sides of the brain, magnets are science, cleaning up after themselves builds character and confidence.
A.D.D. at 4 yrs old is a non-issue. I've had 4 children and I home schooled my youngest until high school. He was A.D.D. It just has to do with how well they function in an overcrowded class room, not at home. Playing games with them will help their ability to focus. Good luck

"Educatuonal" game system? Buy him the same one you didn't use as a child.
Instead of wiring him to a TV set, maybe you could take him on a camping trip or something, if it's not too much trouble for you. It's no wonder he has A.D.D.

Maybe you could try the LeapPad Learning System. It has a notebook with a stylus and interchangeable books/stories/acitivities for different age ranges. It will also help him to learn to read on his own. It may help him stay focused since he is able to control the stylus and go at his own pace.

Leap Frogs worked wonders on my 7 year old grand-daughter. They have programs for just about every age group. She is the top reader in her class. (not that I'm biased or anything! :-)
Hope this helps...

give him his own computer. it's the best way to train a child educationally, but of course if he's hooked on the net be sure that you keep an eye on the sites he's surfing.

The best thing to do would be to buy books and read to him. Reading is learning and learning is reading.
