try South bank on the yarra plenty of cafes and restaurants or Crown Casino the complex not the casino itself but the whole complex has shops cafes & cinemas

get yourself to federation square- it's a great place for young people and there are lots of cafes (the one opposite Flinders street is really good), and you can have a romantic walk on the river after.
