If you mean domesticated animals & pets, I'd have to say dogs. I've had dogs all my life. I had what is referred to as petit mal epilepsy as a child (a petit mal seizure involves only a brief, sudden lapse of conscious activity). To people that didn't know, I looked like I was just day dreaming. As an only child that wasn't allowed to go out to play without an adult or older kid to supervise until I was almost 10 yrs. old, my dogs were like my best friends when I couldn't be with my best friends. I was actually bitten pretty badly by a German Shephard when I was about 8 yrs. old, but I had no fear of dogs even after. I was certain that that dog did not mean to hurt me. I later found out that German Shephards in particular, are capable of predicting epileptic seizures before they began. One of my dogs (a husky mix) slept in bed with me until I moved out. Another dog I had (a shephard/husky mix) followed me everywhere without even needing a leash. He pulled my sled when it snowed, & would nudge me onto to the sidewalk if I tried to walk in the street. I think dogs have an incredible connection with humans. My husband & I had our dog for one year when my mother-in-law passed. When I cried he ran to me, & literally cried with me. Since that day, whenever I even start to tear up, (even if it's just from a cheesey chic flick lol) he comes to me & cries too. I can't imagine not having a dog in our home!

Turtle. I've had a pet turtle for 8 years now. His name is Flippy. He is very low maintainence, and is easy going. The best part is that he really recognizes me. Whenever I come home after a vacation or a long trip, he gets really excited and swims around really fast and splashes water everywhere.

Birds! I'd just love to have to be able to fly like them. Also, the only pet I've ever had is a bird. It just flew into my house one day, and wouldn't leave. It stayed for about six months, then my little sister chased it out. Once, he ate half of my homework, but the teacher wouldn't believe me, until I showed him the paper.

I LOVE pengiuns! They are cute and quirky, though some of the toughest animals out there. There isn't anything don't like or admire about penguins-I love every kind out there.

The dachshund. I'm partial because I have one snoozing away next to me.

I agree with you animals are important! Both wild and domestic.

The cerberus. I like it because it's a giant three-headed fire-breathing dog-like demon thing. Although the pegasus is pretty cool too.
