hey everyone i found a ring for my beautiful princess, but i have a few things i need advice on.well i went to many shops and one ring caught my eye. Its a half carat round solitare. Its a vs2 in clarity (crystal/feather), but when u look at in the microscope you still don't see anything. Its a d in color (the best you can get) its certified. Its set in a platinum band (like the tiffany's setting). the ring out the door with tax and all is 3,200 and its at c.d peacocks. I think its a nice ring. So, my question is ladies if you were given this ring would u love it? and second question is that a decent price for a ring like that? I just want something really nice for my princess. I love her so much and i want to make her smile. Just at the moment can't afford a huge rock. Figure we can always upgrade in a year or so. so pls give me your advice on things and any other ideas is helpful thanks a lot.

Don't buy that ring! Yes, you are getting ripped off big time. Diamonds are suppose to sparkle when they are held up to the light. Many jewlers will pass off just about anything and claim it's the real deal until you get it appraised by someone else and then it's too late. A good warning sign is a very pushy sales person. Go to one of the bigger chains like Kays or Tiffany's, and take the princess with you to get an idea of what she likes.

And do keep in mind this...not everyone upgrades. When I first got married back in the day, my wedding band was just a platnum band without a diamond. It matched his. Ten years later, he bought me another one and to this day I refuse to take off that platnum band...it holds so much sentimental value that even though the diamond cost ten times more, that band of mine will always hold more value to me. I get alot of questions regarding to the two wedding rings on one finger, but once I explain, it's easily understood...some of us are just not materialistic.

I wish you well and congrats on the engagement.

Check out Kay's Jewlers or Crescent Jewlers. They are having a huge blowout sale for good quality diamonds...

If she doesn't like it you can always give it to me. J/K most women would be more than happy with that, unless she's Paris Hilton, she'll probally love it, especially if she knows it came from the heart. Congrats and Good Luck.

She loves YOU. Not the ring you're buying her, not the wedding ya'll will have. All she wants and loves is you. The rest is icing.

She will love it. And she will never want another even if you can afford it at a later date. You want the one your partner proposed with!
