95 riviera, didnt recharge system, changed pump because bearings were shot, didnt disconnect battery, only bat

monly grond under coil pack. Think it may have to do with theft detterent system, not sure. Can computer loose its memory when a main engine ground is disconnected? There is no cranking at all of the starter. All lights are bright, can here relay under rear seat comeing on as well as electric fuel pump comeing on. Baffled.

Disconnecting battery won't bother your computer as far as starting is concerned. There should be a fairly loud click when youturn the key to start position. If you don't hear it then the starter solenoid is not closing. I don't know where yours is located, some are on the starter and some are mounted near the battery. There is a small diameter wire that carries 12 volts that connects to it. You may have caused a problem there. I pulled an ignition wire loose on my vehicle when I replaced the a/c compressor Took a while to find the problem.
Your problem is between the battery the solenoid and the starter. It is an electrical problem so don't let someone sell you a starter.
