How many of you are going to watch it? If no, is it because of Gibson or does the Mayan culture not interrest you?

Not really, I'm still waiting for the passion of the Christ II--He won't be cross again to come out.

I have to say that I'm torn on this one.

I saw the Apocalypto trailer for this film on a recent trip to the theater (Borat), and the movie looked fascinating but that presents me with somewhat of a problem.

I used to be a big fan of Gibson's work and always thought it was cool that the guy was a big tme hollywood star that was married to non star and that he had lots of kids (it's nice to think of some celebrities as being "regular people" to a degree)

Then he imploded ( albeit more like Tom Cruise then like OJ or Michael Jackson) but said some things that I thought were just wacky, untrue and malicious.

The rub here is that I want to see the film but feel silly giving him my support by going to see it. So what's the answer?

I rent it in 6 months with an all month rental pass. I can rationalize that!

Yes, im anticipating and really interested in him more then ever since The Passion Of The Christ was released ever since then it seems some people are trying to unfairly give him a bad name and frame him with something in the corrupt ways of the news and media .I support and back him 100% on any of his movies in the future.I will be going to see this in the theater when it's released for sure and i can't wait for his new mad max movie as well.

I love the Mayan culture and I'm going to see it because of that, even though Mel has apparently gone around the bend in his politics and personal life.
