For a Desktop PC, which brand between Acer and Compaq has better quality? Let's say if both is at the same price and has exactly same configuration, just different in the brand, which would you go for? thanks

I would have to go with the Compaq because I'm more familiar with that name and I have also had good experiences with Compaqs.

what do u want to ask by comparing brands rather than the configuration of the pc u r going to purchase?
if u r doing that to have a better looking system with a extended warranty with the paid money then u should go for the compaq.

Acer puts better components in their computers (name brand parts, etc), and nothing is proprietary. Compaq is like the cheaper Dell systems-- nearly everything, including the motherboard and power supply are proprietary. You should buy an Acer; they offer very good performance for the money, and aren't proprietary.

I have a Compaq work laptop and do not like it. The laptop runs hot and the fan is loud. Components like mother board have gone out prematurely and the rest of our company is on Compaq with similar complaints. My preference is Dell. I have had at least five Dells desktops and laptops and always have good luck.

I would go for the Compaq, it was purchased by HP not too long ago, so has HP backing. It also has more name brand recognition. I have owned several Compaq computers and they are of good quality.

Compaq.My mom just bought an Acer, we had to take it back for work because some things don't be loaded onto it correctly.Acer is rather new and still have a few glitches.

alot of people with go with compaq since there with HP now ...but if they were same price, same settings, i'll go with Acer..hehe i dont like compaq much if it was HP com then i would go with HP

hp makes good laptops but there desk tops are crap they are always frying there mother boards they will nickle and dime u to death don't know about the acer never owned one so i couldn't tell u about that

what has the better warrantee. Cause that's all these companies differ in. Just don't buy a dell.
