I'm 39 weeks pregnant and been 3 cm for over 2 weeks!!!!
my doctor explained to me that when it's your second pregnancy (this is my second as well) sometimes you dilate sooner but it doesn't mean labor is any closer so you could stay at 1 cm until your due date there is really no way of telling

There is no way to know. Everyone is different. I was diliated to 5 or 6 on my last OB appointment with both of my children. I was 1 cm 6 - 8 weeks before each birth. You may well have some time to go.

I was 1 cm dilated for the last three weeks of my pregnancy. My friend wasn't dilated at all the last couple weeks and then bam! she dilated and had a quick labor.

Could be tomorrow, could be a week after your due date! I was fully effaced and dilated 1 cm for 4 weeks (and ended up giving birth 9 days past due)!! While it is super exciting to hear your body knows what it is doing try not to watch the clock now, you will only drive yourself crazy, trust me : ). Congrats and happy pushing!!

you can stay 1 cm for a couple of weeks without dilating anymore until labor starts.

You can stay 1 cm until the very end. No one actually knows when he or she is going to make their debut. Just relax and sit tight it is almost over. Congratulations and Good Luck!!

I was dialated to 3cm with my daugher and did not give birth for several weeks. I don't know that you can tell how long until you give birth based on how dialated you are. Sorry, but I am not sure about that.
Good luck!
