As with any electronic device, it may be suspect to screen damage, and while their is a hard drive, it isn't exactly good on it.
The best thing, is bring it in to room temperature and let it warm up on it's own before you try to use it.
Short answer: Is it good for it? No. If it happens every once in a while is it going to ruin it? no.

just like any liquid (liquid crystal display= LCD), it freezes. As long as it is not re-heated too fast the screen will be fine. Same phisics as anything going from extreme temperature to another it becomes very brittle. If you notice, the screen will mold to the next picture. After many times of this, your screen might crack or just not create a picutre in certain spots

It won't harm the device, but you should let it warm to room temperature before using it, so the heat generated when it's used doesn't cause condensation to form inside it, and ruin the electronics.

It might damage it. I would keep it in a case or pouch at all times at a normal room temp.
