Ask your doctor about a drug named "Clomid". It is a fertility drug with very little chances of producing multiples. I suffer from missing periods as well.. maybe 1 every three months. I was told that I may never concieve ..well.. I now have a 2 month old son that I concieved after 6 cycles of clomid. He is healthy and there were no side effects. I had a perfect, uncomplicated pregnancy, and he weighed a whopping 8 pounds 3 ounces (40 weeks) at birth.

You do not need to be having periods if you are going to be going the IVF route. They will harvest your eggs and mix it with the sperm in a petri dish, and then transplant them back in once they have fertilized.

You do not, however, have to go the route of IVF just because you have PCOS. Women with PCOS conceive without using ART techniques. Talk to your doctor, they should have other options for you.

You will need to wait for a period. I am surprised that your doctor hasn't prescirbed progesterone to kick start your cycle. You ovulate before your period so if you haven't had a period, that is a fair indication that you haven't ovulated.

It will probably take a while for you to noramlize. Just be patient and wait it out. Good luck.
