okay so yeah i brought a ferret an yes they r so cute playful and smart too smart but wen i brought him i wasnt thinkin rite i was makin an inresponsable choice bcuz i was mad that my mom wouldnt buy me a dog so i went and spent 400 dollars on him,cage,vet,toys, n idk what else i love him and all but he never really learn how to use the litter box. they do learn but theyll always miss once a while..VERY ANNOYING to be peakin up poop at all times..my mom doesnt really like it cuz he does smell..n im very clean and even too good wit him w.e now my mom is telling me that if i give him away shell get me the cutest lil puppy..basecally everything ive always wanned my ferret is 6months, sucks cuz i spent so much money on it i would have him if i could have two animals but i cant mayb when i move out..so yeah will i be a bad person if i give him away also i dun have the time to play wit him like b4 n he needs a lot of attention mayb he`ll go to a better place my mom and i can have the pup

If you can find a good home for the ferret, it sounds like that would be the best choice, and what you are wanting to do as well. Do what it takes to bring harmony back in your life--if it means giving up the ferret and getting a puppy, or going without pets altogether. Sometimes if handled right mistakes can be someone elses blessings.

Just thought you should know, a dog needs just as much attention and care, if not, more! They need walks, food, and love to play all the time, some cuddle, etc. If you can't handle the responsibility of a ferret, I wouldn't be so sure about a dog! Sorry Hun.. =(

You really don't like him so give him away to someone who will enjoy him. You really did it out of spite in the first place and look where it landed you. Just learn from your mistake and move on. Take your mother up on her offer and enjoy your puppy. You're not a bad person, maybe you were a little impulsive, but now you are a much wiser person.

If ur not giving the ferret the attention it needs then no ur not a bad person for giving it away. I understand why u feel like a bad person b/c ur like trading ur pet in for a better 1, but imo u should give away the ferret but make sure u give it to some1 who'll love it.

Well if you do give him away....PLEASE make sure you know who you are giving him away to, know a little about the family's background around ferrets...if they have dogs be careful with the dogs and kids also. So yeah just make sure you don't give him to a bad family!!!
Have you tried your local Humane Society?

maybe you can get something for your ferret,
but if you rather have the puppy,
take the loss and move on

since that's the problem. my advice, don't ever get a pet.
if you really really want one, do lots of research first to know what you gonna go thru rather than experience it and start abandoned those innocent animals.
