What kind of MP3 player doesn't require you to use songs downloaded from iTunes or Rhapsody? I'm looking for one that holds about 1,000 songs, has decent sound quality, and can simply transfer existing songs from the computer to the player.

The iPod does not require you to download music from itunes. I copy them off my CD collection and the mp3 library I have on my computer that was established by MusicMatch. A computer transfer works like this.

make a copy of a mp3 format song on a thumb drive
attach thumb drive to computer(PC or Mac)
boot up iTunes, open its library window and the thumb drive window
drag song icon from thumb drive window to iTune library window, a message will pop up telling you the song is being copied
using iTune "file get info command" put in name of song, artist, genre ect. to complete the iTunes library info.
the song now will be loaded to the iPod the next time it is connected to your computer.

CD gamers i'm now not waiting for an ipod or mp3 participant yet... possibly whilst i'm forty in the event that they do now not look to be old via then (i'm 29). I even have had my digital camera for 3 years and there continues to be in all probability a gaggle of stuff i do now not be conscious of a thank you to do with it yet. Texting, making telephone calls, and shooting is fantastically plenty all i'm able to do with my cellular telephone. i do now not want to flow via all the difficulty of downloading songs merely to hearken to them each time everywhere with out the skipping or scratching.

A cheapy RCA Lyra that has an SD card slot, and a couple of 1G SD cards. Load the cards with a separate card reader or plug a USB cable into the player, and it shows up like a couple of removable drives.

1,000 songs that means you should get one with at least 4GB.
You can consider Sandisk Sansa e- series, which comes with 2GB, 4GB, 6GB and 8GB versions. I am not sure does it require Rhapsody (I dont think so), but this play do have a decent high- ratings from consumers!
