First of all, you need to be more specific, but your prof. is probablly refering to the amendment that deals with "cruel and unusual punishment". And, two, does the death penalty conform to the your personal idea of what democracy is? For instance, is it right to execute a mentally defective person?, should there be an age limit on the death sentence?, and so forth. If you can give me an exact question, I will try to be of more help, Tim

omg stop worrying! that's why you cant think you know...
If you cant finish it by tomorrow, so what? Someone's going to stab you in the pancreas? No, just hand it in the next day. So you might lose what... 1 percent, 5 percent? That is nothing, and grades mean nothing. What is important is the ideas you're writing about. Remember that, and you'll get a better mark than if you rush to finish it by tomorrow morning.

Values:
One concept that resonates about the death penalty is assigning an executioner.
Can people run for election for the position?
Society must give its collective consent to designate a person or persons as exempt from the idea that one shall not kill. Is this moral?
Is it better to inflict unusual punishment rather than to sanction an otherwise innocent person to execute someone else?
For example, if we sentenced a certainly guilty killer to be parachuted into the north pole with no survival items have we killed him as a collective?
Wouldn't we be giving God the opportunity to intervene with Divine Intervention?
If he impossibly made it back to society could he be considered to have paid his debt to society?
