I heard that gogo music originated in DC and Baltimore. im living up here now and i keep hearing it but i dont understand what makes it so popular. And what makes it so different? From what i know it sounds like amatuers singing popular songs and its all to the same beat.

What I remember of "Go-Go" music ...I think it originated in the late 60's early 70's. It was mainly played at nite clubs and was just live dance music no vocals.They would have scantily clad women dancing to the music and that's where the term "Go-Go" dancer came from Early form of stripping for the dancers. I 'm not sure if we are talking the same page here but, if we are, it in no way started in D.C. or Baltimore.... ;)
