In my english 10 class, each one of us had to pick a book and our teacher gave us an assignment that was due next week. im stuck at those 2 questions because i dont understand them.

does this mean that i have to write 8 essays? or i have to come up with the assignment, but not actually do it. im very confused because i dont think you can do three major writing assignments on a theme of one book.

It's hard to say for sure. I could only tell you what I believe from this little part you've told us. I doesn't appear to me that you have to actually do the assignments. I would interpret the words "come up with" to mean write down ideas for the major and minor assignments. I can't tell how you are drawing the conclusion that essays are what the teacher wants to see.

What is the opening instructions on the paper given to you by the teacher. That would help to put #5 and #6 in the proper context and possibly give you a better informed answer.

First, I would email or ask the teacher for clarification. S/he gave the assignment and is really the only one who can tell you exactly what they want. I think s/he is looking for ideas, 3 assignments that deal with theme (more than mone theme in most books, ie. in catcher in the rye a theme is The Painfulness of Growing Up, but there are several others). I would go to Sparknotes.com and look up the book and the themes, and use those to design the assignments. You can also check out discoveryschool.com, and look under favorites for puzzlemaker...it is great for making crosswords and such. Best of luck.

I really wouldn't want to answer your question because I could tell you the wrong thing. The question is not very clear. I'm just a little curious, why don't you just ask the teacher? Wouldn't that be a lot better than trying to get some stranger to interpret your assignment?

No. You write 3 essays/assignments that are major to your project. Then you create 3 "fun" things, like listed in the question (CW, poem, picture, etc.)

Yes, as said previously, you just have to come up with an idea for assignments. Sounds easy enought to me, if you read the book.

Don't forget to ask your teacher next time. ;]

Good luck with the assignment!
