I say go for it.
I used to be just like you. Like, I had this one pair of bright green flats that I loved but was afraid to wear because of what people would say. One day I finially just got over my fear and wore this... well, less than typical outfit and I got so many compliments for being unique. If you like it, who cares what other people like, just rock it!

The nice thing about style right now is that if you dont' go over the top, you can pull off pretty much anything.
If you're really that timid, then put on the outfit and go somewhere like a mall. Walk around for a bit, go into some shops. If people stare at you, then I would look at finding a differetn outfit. If you get compliments, then they're sincere. That way, you can get opinons, but not embarass yourself (those people won't ever see you again). If you want to take it gradually, start with like a black tee and jeans, but throw in some really sweet, unique shoes. If you start slowly, with shoes and jewelry, then you'll build more confidence and avoid the risk of looking like a poser when you show up in a completely un-"you" outfit one day.

Part of being yourself is dressing in styles that represent you. So long as you aren't running around in clothes that'll get you arrested or attacked, then why worry? If you want to wear something different, and it's how you feel comfortable, then by all means, wear it. People get remembered for what makes them stand apart, not for how well they could blend in with others.

You have to find style which makes you feel good and self confident. Firstly you have to like yourself. About the lacking of originality it is common for many people. Usualy in these cases you may contact people who are specialized in style creating and would definitely help you to find your own you. Contact stylists in jurgita.com if you are really interested in changing your appearance :)

If you're in high school and your present style helps you fit in comfortably among your peers, that's fine. High school is all about conformity. When you're out of high school and working or in college, you'll have more time and wherewithall to develop a more personalized style. I wouldn't waste a lot of time and spirit worrying about it now.

If you go to Japan, you will be surprised.. almost everyone will wear what they feel like wearing. of course there are fads too, but there is still freedom to wear what you want. and it is really cute!~ I like wearing mixed colors and mixed patterns. you should dress who you are and dress what you feel!~^-^
