Probably China, thier lax labor laws mean manufacturing is dirt cheap there (this is why almost all US jobs are over there now). Thier economy is gaining striength daily, and they have a military second only to the US in terms of technology and far beyond it in terms of manpower

The USA will likely remain the dominant economic and political power in the world. China is growing, but without a market for its products it will shrink, and what country has the economic power to purchase the kinds of goods China will want to export. To some degree, they will always be dependent on strong western powers. I don't know how many of you have actually been to China, but the overwhelming majority of the nation is in abject poverty. Only Hong Kong and Beijing show any kind of dominant western influence. Until China builds itself up internally, it will always be an unstable economic power. The UK will remain strong, but there are many issues that constrain its influence in the world. By far, the most powerful, and willing nation on the world scene is the USA. The growing foreign economies are dependent on American goods, American capital, and the Internet. Who invented the Internet? No it's not Al Gore. The Internet was invented at the University of Indiana (it was originally called the ARPANET). Again, the USA led the way.

Anarchists and socialist misfits will suredly point to the US losing influence in the world, but they don't know history. There is no reason to point to the nation disappearing from the world scene in the next 50 years. We're just at the threshold of our prominence in the world.
