Political spectrums vary. One could say, historically, that all governments—democracy, fascism, communism—inhabit the "left" while anarchy or a lack of control rests on the "right."

However there is no real objective definition for democrat, republican, liberal or conservative. Most "real" Democrats and Republicans, for example, do not necessarily reside on one particular side of the divide; they move in divergent directions on assorted issues.

Under a system of seemingly opposing values and party loyalty, the political pendulum swings back and forth, but the fundamental direction in which our country is moving never varies by more than a degree or two.In this manner, people are polarized into opposing groups that offset each other and the status quo is maintained.

Free-thinking individuals need to step outside the left/right paradigm and not blindly follow any political party. They need to consider each candidate based on their record of honesty and integrity and their support for American values such as the constitution of the United States and rights and freedoms of the individual, with a record that can only be established by actions that support words.

I honestly believe if we are to survive as a nation, we must consider America as a sovereign nation worth fighting for and not as a spoke in the wheel of collectivism. We must also turn away from globalist thinking and return to the moral values upon which our nation was founded. If we do not, we will not survive as a nation much longer. It’s as simple as that.

Now your talking! A political renaissance is already underway. It will not be lead by the pundits or party leaders. Like most revolutions it will start in backyards, taverns and bedrooms. Welcome aboard!

Easy answer. Because it is easier for people to understand.

In order to be a free thinker, one has to exert effort. One would need to do research, compile a list of facts and then through logic and reasoning come to an answer that suits them.

Now compare that to the emotional surge of "MY TEAM IS BETTER THAN YOUR TEAM!".

Emotions are much easier than logic. So are beliefs, as beliefs do not require actual fact.

Combine the two, and you've got the average amaerican; someone who feels that party X is "right". Then, to reinforce this, the party they believe in tells them exactly what they want to hear. It's a positive feedback loop, and it takes hardly any energy to get into it. After that, it becomes the group mentality. They are right and everyone else is wrong. Arguments devolve into little more than self-justification and childish name calling.

And there you have it. American politics in a nutshell.

If even 25% of the nation would just stop and REALLY research what our government does, cut through all the smokescreens and flak by the two parties, then we could probably see some real change take place.

Unfortunately, people are too complacent (or apathetic) to take this step. It's just so much easier to pick a side. Much like an NFL game.

But you don't seem to understand that there already are lots and lots of free-thinking individuals who do not have the same interpretations of the U.S. Constitution as each other -- or as compared to you. Indeed, one of the most basic divisions between the two parties/ideologies has historically been how to interpret the Constitution.

And in terms of turning away from "globalization" and maintaining our own sovereignty, how can we do that when our Supreme Court freely invokes international law as they interpret the U.S. Constitution?

properly, they at the instant are not waking up rapid adequate to maintain this united states of america. Ron Paul already ought to not get the nomination, and it sounds like i'll ought to declare farewell to this united states of america that could have been an occasion for something of the international to persist with in. Obama or Romney, it relatively is not significant. people have only signed their own dying warrant. So while they set up street checkpoints and bring the militia in to verify martial regulation like they have consistently had to do, that's as quickly as I plan to flee.

The entire left-right model is destroying America.

Both political parties have tried to abrogate certain freedoms.
Libs are pushing for hate-speech laws and higher taxes (theft)
The Cons want to impose their views on everyone else and penalize any form of dissent.

Most Americans fall for the left-right paradigm because the media and several politicians emphasize it too much, they all want to put people in one group or the other and it is not that simple

Interesting but it will never happen as long as this country is controlled by the people who control it. The ideals our country was founded on are some of the greatest ideas to never be fully and truly realized without being perverted.
