Personally, I believe that abortion in most cases is wrong. There are many arguments for why this is true, the baby is alive, the baby is a person, the baby has a heartbeat. I believe that the baby has a soul, and that is why abortion is wrong. The instances that are acceptable are limited to when pregnancy will cause fatal harm to the mother or child. The Catholic (please check your spelling when referring to a religion) church, it is my belief, is wholly and completely against abortion for one very simple reason. As a religious entity, there can be no room for error, no gray areas, only black and white. It is a commandment that "Thou shalt not kill", no substitutions, no gray areas, period.

For "know it all" ButterFly--don't talk about things you know nothing about. People drink wine in church because it represents Jesus' blood. They don’t drink wine out of the bottle to get drunk--it’s not like that at all! If you knew anything about religion at all you would know this! I'm not Catholic but I do know about the religion. I suggest you educate yourself at least a little about thinks before you start rambling.
The Catholic Church is against abortion because (a) The Catholic Catechism forbids it and (b) it is backed up by the Bible. In any faith most of belief is backed up by reference--the Bible or Catechism. This been the belief since the beginning of Catholicism.
They key word here is “belief.” The dictionary definition of belief is--“acceptance of truth of something: acceptance by the mind that something is true or real, often underpinned by an emotional or spiritual sense of certainty”
This does not make it “fact.” While beliefs and morals are a great thing the question is--should merely a belief be a fact in government laws? It should not. Abortion being murder is not a fact. Life starting at conception is not a fact. Life starting at birth is not a fact. They are all theories and beliefs.
While the United States Government was founded on belief (freedom most importantly) is it right to make a whole country live by the beliefs only some hold as true? Doubtful.
Now days--belief and faith are not good enough. We need facts to support any decision we make. As of right now, concerning abortion, there are NO facts therefore it’s hard to say pass a law merely on belief.
Anyway--to sum it all up. I’m pro-choice but not necessarily pro-abortion. I would never suggest abortion. I would never have an abortion. I would educate a woman on all of her option though--abortion, adoption, and keeping the child. I would also support a woman (in the name of Jesus who taught me the power of love and support) who has gone through an abortion.

I think a woman has the right to choose whether to have an abortion or not because it is their body, not anyone else's. They are the ones that have to go through with it and live with it afterwards so who are we to judge? If the mothers life were in danger then don't think i wouldn't be at the abortion clinic. Also i think that if something is terrible wrong with the baby and it would just suffer a horrible life then i would abort and also if someone was raped/molested.
I cannot tell you why the catholic church is against it.. What i don't get is why catholic's drink wine when they are going to church. Explain that one to me.

lol? What in the heck is funny about a woman needing to make a decision regarding her life and her embryo's life/death? Here's my paragraph;
Abortion is surrounded by and consists of pain for all involved. The procedure itsself is confusing, painful, repulsive, and draining. No one wants to kill a child, yet we as a society on the whole encourage our young (and otherwise) people to become sexually active regardless of their ability to handle the very real consequences. 5 year old children see sexual acts depicted in television commercials while they are eating their cheerios in the morning. How have we become so very immersed in the process of...well, of just having sex!? Is it really that important for men to get a nut every single frigging day of their lives? So important that it influences every single thing around us? I believe this is the very bottom line as far as abortion is involved. Fathers need to grow a set and stand up and show their sons other important aspects of their lives not involving their penises but rather teaching them to be productive people on earth. That actions do involve consequences. Also so many young women(girls) have so little self worth that they think physical "love" is as much as they can ever hope for and so devote themselves to pleasing men(boys) in the hopes of attracting one long enough for copulation.
I am neither for nor against abortion. The dirrection I have seen society moving in for so long has been due mostly to the fact that people are not responsible for their actions. This is not aimed at mothers who are going through the process of deciding 'to or not to' end a pregnancy. On the contrary, I feel for anyone who is in this position. I hope only the best for anyone facing this, regardless of what they decide. I do know from personal experience it is very painful, although the reasons for may outweigh the argument against.
Who knows what in the heck the catholic(or any other for that matter) church is thinking about anything at any given moment? They are so messed up they hide child molesters and continue to let them be involved with young kids! That does not cover all catholics, of course. I am just talking about the higher ups in that particular church and how they continue to utilize priests who are known molesters...hm. Any church, however, may have people like this hiding among them, who knows?
But I digress. Abortion is a painful hurtful experience and the people who go out and picket the clinics or bomb offices ought to be out there drawing girls and women away from having unprotected sex in the first place in order to avoid the process altogether. Do you think that if a young man learned from his father that a relationship between a man and woman is a precious and beautiful thing when approached in the right manner there would be nearly the abortion problem there is? It is all about our personal responsibility to our children and teaching them wrong from right in an effective and loving way. Church this and church that. My own church has blinders on when breaching this subject! I say again, the ones bombing clinics and giving women/girls a hard time who are using them are blind to the real problems causing abortion. I have a very hard time talking to people about this because so many refuse to admit the real issues involved. It's all about personal responsibility, and not just the girl or woman involved. (Quite possibly not the man or boy, either. I am not male bashing here.) We all know that much is true.
When a baby is brought into the world it can be a wonderful thing. If a woman must make a decision to abort, that is her right. Too many people have an overall opinion about it and don't even know what they are talking about.

Once you believe that the "little mass of fertilized cells" is really a human being, then you believe that abortion kills a human being. After that, you must morally condemn 99% of the abortions performed. That is why the Roman Catholic (not "catholic" or even "cathulic") church believes it is wrong.
For the record, I'm betting that 3/4 of the American population believe that abortion for the purposes of birth control is wrong.

It's better to legalize abortion. If you don't agree with it, don't HAVE one. It's better for a woman to have abortions in sterile conditions than to do it in back alleyways if abortion was illegal. It's a woman's body and she should be able to make decisions about it herself--she's a big girl, she doesn't need a church to make such decisions for her.
The Catholic church thinks it's wrong because they're so high on all that incense that they don't think straight. Who the f_ck knows, man....

In my opinion a person needs to take responsibility for their own actions. If you commit a crime you should have to do time. If you get pregnant you should be responsible for the child you conceived, and if you are negligent with your body during that time hurting the fetus it should be treated as a crime. Once you give birth, you can surrender that child on site. Bottom line, the child didn't chose to be conceived so why should they be punished for the decision of someone else.

The Church belives (in a sec) 'every sperm is sacred'. Actually most fellas do too, sort of a vanity thing. However, if you are not ready to give your everything to another PERSON, you ought to consider reality....
