I don't know of a newer version. The best rendition I know of this song was by Nat "King " Cole

Most famous version is by Nat King Cole from 1946. Song was written by Mel Torme & Robert Wells in 1946 during a heatwave in Southern California. I guess they were trying to think "cool thoughts"

I haven't heard the new version. Bing Crosby sang the original. Or was it Perry Como? Those singers (crooners) back then all sounded the same to me..

i'm guessing a lot of christian groups remade the song. the only one i can think of is Avalon from their cd "Joy".
