give me ideas on writing:
story that conveys the importance of understanding either ratio and proportion or percents. the story should be mostly non-mathematical, so that someone who has never taken a math class can understand what you are saying. The important thing is that you convey your opinion in such a way that the story is fun to read. Feel free to use humor, hyperbole, or whatever.

Percent of increse-Sally was walking down to the toy store. A man that worked at the toy store was her frind's dad. A week befor last week sally saw a doll that shee wanted to buy. It was 10.00 dollars. Sally brought 20.00 with her to buy the doll. Ohh no! when Sally looked at the doll this week it was 15.00 dollars! Sallys mom had told her that she could but the doll if it was cheaper or if it only got a 9%increase. Sally remeberd those horrid words. She pulled out a sheet of paper ond wrote:.............the origanal price was $10 and now it is $15.
S: The percent of increase of the doll I want to buy..................
O:Doll $10 Now it is $15
L:I will multiply and subtract and divide.
V: $15-$10=5 5/15 * x/100 x*15 = 5*100 x*15=500 divide both sides by 15. x= 33 1/3

Write a story about something everyone is familiar with. You go to a party to meet boys or girls. You could include the ratio or percent of boys to girls or girls to boys. A boy wouldn't want to go to a party to meet girls if the party had all boys or only a few girls, his chances of meeting a girl wouldn't be that great.
