Yep thats the tale tale sign of a dieing battery. The cells are going bad and the stay on time is gona get less and less in the future. My Dell 4150 latop originally was able to stay on for about 2 hrs but then after 2 yrs it was down to 50 minutes then 1 yr later I cant stay on it for more than 20 minutes. I can watch my battery meter go from 99 down to 90% then it will drop to 75%, 45% then 17% all withing 3 minutes cause it starts hitting the cells that are just shot.

Get a new battery to stay on longer, or stay plugged in more.....I cant stand it being plugged in all the time. Im gona be getting a new laptop soon with some good battery life..... : )

Usually after 6 months on all new laptop batteries it starts losing some of its holding potential. Its a common thing and if it holds for over a year then that was a really good battery.

Hi. Your PC is a Pentium II Based machine. This is OK, but it means it has some miles on it. Yes, the battery is probably real weak but if it shuts down while on the A/C adapter it may have too much running at once. Use ctrl+alt+del to check and stop any process you do not need. If it runs on the A/C adapter just use that. A new battery will cost about 1/3 the price of a new, more modern, laptop.

It means that the battery life of your laptop is failing. If your laptop is old then it's time to replace the battery. When you have your new battery, follow the instruction on how to charge it initially. This will have a very high impact on how long your battery will last.

Could be that you need to replace the battery, because it's not holding as much power as before.

Is it plugged into to outlet? If not, you probably need a new battery. If it is plugged in, then you should take it to BestBuy or another computer store to have them check it out...could be serious.

Go to your control panel and then your appearance and then screensaver settings and set time or power saver time to what you want it to be. This should keep it from turning off. Good Luck.
