In my opinion, it's not worth it. Most of these sales are what I call "bait sales". The stores advertise something for an extremely low price and then only carry a few of this item. Most of these items end up in the hands of the first 5 people who have been standing in line outside the store for hours and hours and are willing to literally RUN around the store snatching what they can before someone else does. Frequently, there are fights and many stores call in "bouncers" for these "early bird" sales to help keep customers from getting physical with each other. Generally, the sales items sell out within the hour and the people who trickle in looking for the sale item generally buy something else that is sale priced even though it's not what they actually came for. I just don't feel the need to drive to a store at 4am, wait in line for it to open so that I can sprint around grabbing boxes and elbowing my way through the crowds of other customers doing the same thing. Admittedly, you can get some really GREAT buys (if you're fast and aggressive enough). So, yes, you may save a little money, sure...but in truth, if you're so broke you have to do this sort of thing to get by, then you really need to rethink the real meaning of Christmas. For me, I'll settle for the same bargains as the other 98% of shoppers who go when it's convenient and take the time to shop and compare.

I did it 1 time and will NEVER do that again !
To many people shoving, pushing and yelling.
what you do for next year's Christmas is wait 1 week after Christmas then go shopping for the next year - you will get the best deals then, I have done this for many years once bought over $2000. worth of stuff for less than $ 300. at wal-mart's sale

I got nothing but stress shopping the day after Thanksgiving. On the other hand, I love to shop the day after Christmas as that's when the great sales are.

I usually look at Thursday's papers and pick one or two items that are on door-buster sales. Those are the only ones I go after and then I head for home. I have saved hundreds of dollars by doing this.
As for bargains, I got a $400 strand of pearls for $99. A 8 place setting of fine china valued at $900 for $125. It just depends on what you want.

I don't have answers for all of your questions but I can tell you that I feel it is not worth it unless there is a special sale item that you are looking for. Otherwise the deals on everything else are pretty average.

Hell nah. After working so dam hard to make that money, and the way you been running around shopping all teh time in the stores they shoulkd be giving stuff away free just that one day, it is thanks giving, they should be thanking us for keeping them in business, so I'd save my money if I were you. Rebel against the stores for not giving you a freebie.
Cause they just gonna waste whatever they don't use anyway. when we could have used it.
Stay in your dam bed and get some extra sleep for monday

I would avoid it like the plague. I like that Radiohead song, too.

No, I hate that so many people wait for that day to go shopping.
It's annoying.
