I try to whenever I get the chance. My favorite is taking "goodies" to the clerks at thrift stores. I am a thrift store junkie and whenever I run into a good deal on donuts, cupcakes, candy I like to drop off some to the clerks at the stores I patronize.
I help the destitute too, but my favorite gesture is helping those that work every day, but don't make much money. Bless their hearts, some of them would probably make as much if they got on welfare, but they don't do it. You have to admire them!

I work in a hospital (I register patients and answer the phones). One night, this patient came in all confused and such. When she was discharged from the ER, she came out and was waiting for a ride. She seemed really upset. She decided to get a soda, but when she got to the pop machine, she realized that she didn't have any money on her. She had lost all her money earlier that night (before she came into the ER). I happened to have a pocketful of change, so I gave her enough change to buy herself a soda. It was a very very small thing on my part, but to her, it was a big big deal. She wasn't used to having people treat her with kindness. She and I became friends after that. She would talk with me when she came in and stuff, and I got to know her a little bit. When she died later that year, I just cried and cried. Working where I work, you usually develop a sense of detachment when it comes to patients, but with her, she really got to me. I still miss her, you know?

I went to a gambling house with $10 and by 7 AM I had about $1000-$1200.
A fat guy was complaining that his wife will kill him because he had lost his whole paycheck. He was supposed to cash his check and buy diaper but somehow ended up at the gambling house.
I gave him back $500 = 70-80% of his paycheck.
As soon as I gave him back his money all the idiots in the room wanted their money back too. They got my international middle finger!
Yes, a month later the same fat idiot was sitting at a gambling table again.

I usually don't notice my acts of kindness. My goal as a person is to automatically do acts of kindness without acknowledging it and it come just from my nature and not because of the selfish desire to find self worth.

I try to treat everyone with kindness as I know that sometimes you just need one person to treat you nice on a bad day.I also feel really good helping others out so its also kind of selfish

Of course. Letting some driver pull in front of me onto a busy street; smiling at a cashier who looks frazzled & tell her she's doing a great job; haven't you ever been kind for no reason?

I've held doors open for people, helped pick up someone's books, let someone use my school ID to print off a paper.

Yes. I bought dinner for a veteran one night. Didn't even know him, just went up to the register and paid mine and his ticket.
