Recently, my friend has started to smell bad. At first you couldn't notice it until you were up close but now I can smell her odor far away. I don't whats going on. She never used to smell bad before. People are starting to notice and she losing her friends and her confidence. She doesn't seem to know that she smells bad? How can I tell her without her getting mad?

maybe you could turn it around and approach it as saying to her, It would be so embarrassing to smell & have nobody tell me--If I ever stink, please tell me. also, you could try putting deoderant on yourself while being with this friend & mentioning that you hope this helps keep you smelling fresh. Just have a heart to heart girld talk. Tell her about your experience with personal hygiene & what you do, then ask her what works best for her. Maybe she just isn't taught personal hygiene in her home. Good Luck!

You have to say something... even if she never speaks to you again... it's funny I was in a store today... a teenage boy walked by and his BO knocked me over... I wonder why the people that was with him had allowed him to tag along with him smelling so bad... Omg it smelled of dirty butt and armpits and oily hair all mixed... yuck... tell her in the kindest way possible... god for her sake.... If it was my friend I could do it and accept the possibility that she may get mad... hope this helps... PS... I wouldn't hang with a person that smelled like the boy did today.

That is a hard one because you may lose her friendship if you say anything
But it may not be from bo etc she may have a cyst that is leaking they can smell very bad
Its in the to hard basket really
but if it was my husband etc i would tell him so whats the difference
either way it would have to be done with very good tact & I'm lost as what to say to her

Just suggest perfumes. Talk about how great they smell and give her some samples. She may like them and use them, sparing you the awkwardness of telling her right out.

Very difficult situation indeed. The real remedy is, though, the honest truth. You are not going to be able to do it with subtle messages. Good luck.

Just ask her whats wrong and why she has changed so much.
and let her know because it would be better for you to hurt her pride than have everyone hurt her feelings. She will morelikely be glad someone told her.Its better to come from a friend....
