He became upset and put in a complaint and we both were fired.....I really want to go back and I asked HR can I appeal the decision and they think I would be a get idea I just need some ideas on how to set it up and what to say.

This is my oppionion:
Put it in this type of format.
first part
Situation : I was fired due to blah blah (whatever happened)
Form (don't write that just giving you an idea) Write down exactly what happened and why you responded the way you did...and with your apologizes or whatever (even if you don't feel that way) for creating any upset with the company...why you like the company etc..
At the bottom next paragraph put how long you have worked there...how you have done or whatever on your job and why you are an asset to the company...and that it will never happen again.

Get it? gosh sorry that happened....sounds like they were a bit tough on both of you really....you should have at least gotten a warning or something :(
Hope this helps! :) good luck xxxooo
Hey worse case You will find another job that knows your worth.

If HR thinks it's a good idea take the chance. Just explain to HR what transpired that day. He threatened to hit you first. Your only human, I would probably have the done the same. Tell HR you're willing to take Anger Management Course to prevent this from happening in the future.

I wouldn`t try to write a letter asking for my job back. Take the event as a lesson. You should not have threatened him, you could have been the one to report him if he threatened you first. The employer now believes you are immature and can`t handle yourself . So move on and be more professional on your next job.

I would bring up the issue of sexual harrassment in the workplace and that you were simply defending yourself. Women these days don't just stand there and take harsh criticism or threats, at least I don't, and I'm sure you don't as well. And there is no reason for you to be treated like that, you should be able to feel comfortable and safe at your job.

About your answer to my question...I did try the JCPenney link, but when I gave my size it turned up no results, thanks anyways.

Tell HR it was in self defense he started it and then you can say you did handle it badly,if it ever happens again you will go strait to your boss and let him/her handle the aggressive employee.good luck!
