Aside from the cases where they are discouraged from registering, let alone voting (and the ID card, voter purges, transporation problems, confusing poll locations don't make it any easier) -- few candidates appeal to them. Those who do, win.
Then there are the close-knit groups who do vote, and all vote identically. The Lubavichers, for example, vote whichever way their Rebbe tells them. I'm sure there are others like that: there's been plenty of press discussion about evangelicals and Mormons, to name two.

You shouldn't assume that all minorities don't vote. I can prove you wrong because I am an African American and vote. I have plenty of family members that vote too. You should have ask "why most or some minorities don't vote" it makes more sense. I assume that some do not vote because it is not important too them or put it aside for other task. I have a cousin that only votes if he really like a candidate.

Well I can't speak for afro-americans, but the Indians are still shot at, harassed, and this year the state cut a big trench across the highway so there was no way anybody but a mountain goat could have made it out of one reservation to vote.
Still an awful lot of intimidation.

I served as a poll watcher in a predominantly african-american precinct during the recent election, and was told by others who had worked there before that a very high number voted in this election compared to previous elections.

It is because most of them, the majority of them, know that the government has not been addressing the problems of the African Americans. After 2 hundred years one would think that politicians would have already solve those problems. Even the black senators and the black congressmen/women cannot get their foot in the door to address domestic problems.

I believe many do. Both major parties make strong efforts to recruit minority voters. I canvassed for the Dems and we targetted many minority voters.
Al Gore chose Donna Brazille as campaign mgr because she had a geat reputation for turning out minority voters.

minorities vote, but they loose, that's why 'majority' vote wins.
Oh, wait you meant MINORITY RACES, perhaps you could have been a bit more clear about what you meant instead of me having to guess the idea you wanted to convey.
There is no proof of that. Lots of Hispanic, Caucasian, and Chinese don't vote either...it's because there's really not a good choice when it comes down to the vote. It's like them asking me to vote whether I'd like DOG SH!T or if I want CAT SH!T. I don't want either...
I hope I offered a perspective useful to you.

Because it's hard to find a ballot large enough to cast a vote with a can of spray paint.

Many are scared away from the voting booths, others find themselves disbarred for some vague reason. For some, it means nothing for them
