My faves are: the Dave Robicheaux series by James Lee Burke, the Charlie Parker series by John Connolly, the Brady Coyne series by William G. Tapply, the Elvis Cole series by Robert Crais, and the novels of Dennis Lehane, James Swain, and Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child. I pretty much only read mysteries!

The site below is great. You can narrow your choices by the character's occupation, time-period or location. There are author readalikes (if you like Ruth Rendell, you might like...) and categoty readlikes (English mystery, historical, humourous, female lead, cozy, etc). Happy reading!

You can't go wrong with Agatha Christie. Or Sir Arthur Conan Doyle's stories about Sherlock Holmes.
