About gyn, yes, you actually take off your underwear. Don't go alone if you feel so insecure (acceptable reaction, but you have to let him or her do the job of examining you and helping you with your trouble) The exam can change a bit if you are sexually active or virgin, or depending on your problem, but don't feel surprised if you are respectfully, professionally and gently inserted an speculum or your labia are separated to examine or if your breasts are checked for lumps.

Usually they will make you take off all your clothes and then put on a loose fitting robe so that they can easily get to the places the will check out.
You just need to lay back, relax, and they will make you feel very comfortable. Don't worry too much. They do it all the time.
It might feel a little uncomfortable while they are taking your pap smear, but it is over really quickly. It doesn't hurt at all.

You'll be fine!:) Just breathe.

I know it's scary for the first. I was scared too my first time. You lay on a table with your legs in what they call stirrups and yes you have to take your underwear off. Yes, the doctor has to insert a speculum inside your vagina to check to see if you are healthy inside. H/she'll take a swab and that's it. If you've never had sex before tell the doctor and the doctor will use a small virgin speculum. Tell the doctor you're nervous and I think h/she'll be careful.

Though going for your first pelvic exam can be intimidating, most girls feel little or no discomfort during the exam, particularly when they understand what the exam is all about. It helps to stay as relaxed as possible and to remember that the exam itself takes only a short time to perform. Let your doctor know that this is your first pelvic exam. That way, your doctor will know to explain what's going on.

well when i went for my first time they make you fill out forms also ask if they need a urine sample before hand this way if you have to go you can just do the sample and get it out of the way then the nurse comes they take your blood pressure and wieght and they ask you a lot of questions then the dr see's you and asks you more questions and then you undress lay on a table and then you get a pap test which they scrap the wall of your vagina to see if there are any cancer cells and they also do std tests thats if you had sex unprotected but its good to get them and if your going for birth control you have to go for blood test and you need to take a pregnacy test its the law incase you are pregnat they cant give them to you also they give you an std test if your sexually active its done on a yearly visit and anything else you want to know you can ask your doctor dont be affraid to ask any questions

Kay it sounds so much worse then it is.
You go in, they give you a gown and a paper thing. You change into the gown and sit on table. Shell come in and ask you to move down and put your legs on the things, you put your legs there and put the paper thing over them. (oh btw the things spread your legs) Then you takes a PAP tast, which concists of her taking a qtip sort of thing and getting cells from inside of you. After that she does another thing, she puts gloves on and puts lube. on her finger and puts it in you and pushes on your wall, and your stomach, and asks if it hurts. There may be more but i cant remember. It quick, and she makes sure your comfortable. Oh and i forgot she checks your breasts for cancer, she goes in circle motions round them, and teaches you how to do it
