If you mean inches and feet and such instead of metric??? I think we got that from mother England. Most of the world is now metric but I am sure the USA is not alone. There must be other stubborn backward countries left out there.

The United States is the only remaining to use just the standard unit system. All other countries use the metric system and Canada has metric and standard on most of the road signs such as speed limit signs

The US has their very own unit of measurements as for europe they have the SI unit of measurements also known as the metric system.

there is no other country in the world that uses s.u. I do believe that canada has both on some of their road signs.
