dell isn't bad. Great computers, haven't had any problems with mine. I've had it for about a year.

I've had several Dell computers and all were excellent. I am using one now that I have had for two years with no problems.
The only thing with the older ones were with some of the parts being proprietary. The cables used to connect hard drives were not industry standard. I think that they have gone standard with the new ones, but you might check on that before purchase. By being standard you can upgrade them without using Dell components which could save you a lot of money should you want to upgrade later.

Dell refuses to admit that there was a problem with the Inspiron 5150 and has a class action suit pending. My fiancee lost over $650 because the motherboard costs just almost as much to replace. I now have a low-end Inspiron 1000 only because the previous owner cracked the screen. The screen replacement cost almost as much as I paid for the laptop.

I have a Dell Inspiron Laptop and I am very happy with it. The only problem I had was a faulty keyboard and they fixed it straight away. They also have excellant customer help setup.

As an owner of a Inspirion 1150, I have had no problems with it even with the upgrades. I have had a DVD player installed. My only problem that I have had is the weight of the laptop.

I adore my Dell!! I have had a few other brands, and this one is by far the best and most troublefree one.
