LOST is a geat show, and also sometimes it feels like the writers pull ideas out of a hat. Anyone have any theories behind the island/? also on the puff of smoke that kills people

Heres the interesting thing, EVERYONE is being killed off if youve been watching the show, and thats somethng thats never been done on a tv show before, where all the actors we've been introduced to have been killed off. Also, the so called OTHERS are NOT THE ones that the crazed french lady in the woods has been trying to trap in her nets. Remember, when echo and locke were hiding on the ground under bushes and being quite, they saw SHOELESS legs walking by SUPER SILENTLY and dragging teddy bears with them. The crazed french lady used teddy bears and baby dolls to try and trap the others, yet the ones we have been introduced to as the others, wear SHOES and have no children around. Therefore, they are NOT the true others. As far as the puff of smoke, it could be an alien phenomenon trapped in a geological niche unique to the islands location preventing it from leaving and returning home......or an experiment on human psychic potential gone awry....It looks like iron fillings to me. Remember the super magnet in the "hatch"....it could be, that SOMEONE is controlling a mass of iron fillings with a magnet and some computer device to manipulate it and form whatever they want, such as a giant hand to grab people with.....after all, there are hatches that we havent seen yet, remember the "invisible map" on the hatches door? it showed multiple hatches.
And heres something no one realized yet, the guy on the video tape who is telling you about the experiments, IS STILL ALIVE ON THE ISLAND!!!!

It seems to me that the island is somehow "alive" and has drawn specific people to it. I believe the puff of smoke is exactly what several people on the show have eluded to, the essence or soul of the island. The island kills those it deems unworthy or unrepentant for some reason.

it is all MIND GAMES something to do with the goverment probably because how else would they have connections to get jack's whole file and also have contact with the outside world??
the question is why are they doing it
