You may look for a female gynocologist. I know I would if I were female.
Anyway, unless you're a beauty contestant, I don't think you need to shave down there. You could use small scissors to cut the pubic hairs before you shave, if you really want to do so.
As a man, I like the hairs. I think its a pity to shave off what nature put there. I don't even care if you shave your legs or arm pits, as long as you do good hygiene.
So you won't mind me reading and answering this question, but you are ashamed to ask your mother, a woman who gave you birth, and knows what you looked like in your birthday suit for years?

Well as for the shaving or waxing if you have the money for waxing I would say do that. Shaving can be tedious and a little dangerous. Don't worry about it so much EVERYONE has it. Just shave very carefully or get it waxed. As for the gynecologist, the will take something about the size around as a tampon and insert it (this may be a little uncomfortable but try and relax) they will then click it and make it open a little more, this also may be a little uncomfortable. They take something that looks like a cotton swab but longer and gently scrap some cells. After that they will do a manual exam (i.e. with their hands). The whole thing usually doesn't take very long. Dont worry and Good Luck!

Okay, first off, it's a natural part of puberty, and you don't have to shave if you don't want to. It's perfectly fine... some people just prefer to shave it because they don't like hair or they like it smooth. Don't get it waxed... waste of money, and it hurts. Duh. If you DO want to shave, go top to bottom since it irritates the skin less. Then, put aloe on it or some type of moisturizing lotion.
Now, as far as the locker room, why don't you put on the swimming suit BEFORE PE? It's what a lot of people do. And trust me, other girls don't give a crap about looking at you, okay? Just wrap a towel around your waist and change THAT way.
HAIR. IS. NATURAL. Everyone has it... well, mostly everyone. So it's totally a personal decision whether or not you want to shave. No one's going to be mad if you don't...
About the gynecologist thing, I've personally never done that, but don't worry about it. It shouldn't hurt.

I have never heard of a Dr. giving instructions for shaving before such an exam. I think if you are self conscious because you are hairy, just some careful trimming should be fine, unless you plan to wear some REALLY skimpy swim wear.
My wife has always disliked those exams, but they won't be terribly uncomfortable. The Dr. will probably want to do a Pap smear and look using a device to access the region. My wife said the best thing about going to a woman Dr. was that her tools were warmed!

First off, relax about the gyn. You don't need to shave before you go. They'll talk to you first but yes, there's likely a physical examination. Just shower the morning before you go and don't worry about it.
Waxing is actually kind of complicated. For now, shave carefully and with a lot of foam, going in the direction the hair grows (mostly down) and not back-and-forth. Just do the areas on your legs if you're worried about the locker room or bathing suits. You can also get a pair of small scissors and trim the rest if it concerns you.

You don't actually need to do anything at all, not even before the doctor, except to make sure it's clean. Trimming with scissors should be sufficent in most cases; it's a delicate area, and shaving and waxing can be very irritating.
The gynacologist will touch you, but most are very gentle and professional, espeically when it's your first time. Ask the doctor to explain what they're doing step by step, and don't be afraid to ask questions!

you dont have to have it done at all. alot of women just go natural. you can get clipers and just trim, maybe having it be a little neater will make you feel more comfortable without haveing to go threw shaveing or waxing. I have never shaved or waxed but i hear it is ichy when it grows back and can be a pain. I am sorry I can be more help, my sugjestion would be to just trim down, but it is all up to you and what you feel the most comfortable with.

you can shave it with a razor, but be prepared to get razor bumps the first few times. always go in the direction that the hair is growing until your skin has become used to the shaving (prob after about 10-15 shaves)
As for waxing, I'd opt against that.

Wax can be painful when they remove it, so I vote for shaving, you can have that done professionally.
About gyn, don't go alone if you feel so insecure (acceptable reaction, but you have to let him or her do the job of examining you and helping you with your trouble) The exam can change a bit if you are sexually active or virgin, or depending on your problem, but don't feel surprised if you are respectfully, professionally and gently inserted an speculum or your labia are separated to examine.

shaving is a personal decision most girls will only do the panty line if it will be showing.your gyno wont care-they see everything.as for the exam they will have you put on a paper robe then check your breasts for lumps..push your belly a little to feel around then they have you put your feet in "stir-ups" to get you in position for the exam-they will then insert a clamp like device in to open you up so they can see and take a few swabs with a large qtip to send out for testing-it wont hurt-just a little scary your first time.dont worry they are very professional-they do it everyday lots of times
