How do I find my WEP key?

Question

Imm trying to find my wep key to set up my animal crossing ds.
I have 2wire, i heard its under the box, where at? I dont think I see it. How would I find it going through my computer manually? I have a dell. I found it once before and saved it but it changed I guess and its wrong. I dont remeber how I found it last.

I have 2 barcodes on my box.
One says assembly number and the other has the barcode numbers with the SN number above it.

the wep needs to be enterend as a password

Ok Im on the 2wire site, and I cant seem to find my wep . What do I click??

Your default WEP key is a 10-digit number below a barcode under your 2Wire mode. The other number there is not 10 digits, so it's easy to tell which one it is.

If you changed the default key to something else then try going to http://192.168.1.254 . This is your gateway's admin page where you can retrieve the WEP key.

And please, don't reset your modem. That would be unnecessary extra work.

If you detect more than one wireless network like the ones on your pictures, that means one of your neighbors also have a 2Wire. The default SSID is 2WIRExxx where xxx are the last 3 digits of your gateway's serial number (also under the gatway itself).

To find your WEP key go to a computer WIRED to the gateway, go to the 'command prompt' under 'Accessories' and type IPCONFIG. This command will give you the 'default gateway' address, which should be something like 192.168.1.254 (see link above).

Now, type that IP on your browser and browse to the wireless settings page. You may need a password to access these pages. If you don't have it you will need to call your ISP or reset the gateway and use the default WEP key on the sticker under the gateway.

Or you can just got to your computer, find the bars that has your internet connection and click it, than right click your known network and go to PROPERTIES than there should be a code that is hidden by dots; there should be a SHOW button underneath that and click than you should be able to find your code...that's how I find mine

WEP key as in password? It's tough. I've forgotten mine before too. The easiest thing to do is press reset on the router and go through the startup routine all over again.

Please be sure that the router is your own. Trying to find someone elses WEP key is underhanded.
