Off the top of my head, I think it was meant to represent the elements and/or the seasons, and at other times a sun god. It was actually a positive symbol before it came to represent the Nazi regime.
It is believed to be first used in Neolithic Euroasia

The swastika was originally a Hindu fertility symbol. The Nazis reversed it and used it on their flag.

It appears on the walls of caves in Northern Europe, to pyramids in Arabia, Native American sites - North and South America - it's ancient and shows up everywhere going back thousands of years. Why the Evil one chose it I don't know - but it originally was a sign of peace and/or fertility - not exactly what Adolph was into.

The Swastika is a religious Hindu symbol.
The bastard nazis somehow rotated it later for hate-mongering purposes.

It is an ancient Egyptian symbol, and its meanings are now unclear, but one idea is that it is a solar symbol and means something along the lines of the wheel of life.
Hitler debased it and made it gross with his "master plan"

It's not as Nazi as you think. The American Boy Scouts used it up until the 30's when the Nazi's were gaining power.
