It is believed to be first used in Neolithic Euroasia

It appears on the walls of caves in Northern Europe, to pyramids in Arabia, Native American sites - North and South America - it's ancient and shows up everywhere going back thousands of years. Why the Evil one chose it I don't know - but it originally was a sign of peace and/or fertility - not exactly what Adolph was into.

It's not as Nazi as you think. The American Boy Scouts used it up until the 30's when the Nazi's were gaining power.
