This term refers to a city or town not allowing any alcoholic beverages to be bought or served within the city limits. I several areas of the country, there are "dry" towns or cities. This means that you would have to go elsewhere to purchase alcoholic beverages. Some restaurants will have signs for BYOB, or Bring your own bottle. They will furnish Ice, and a mixer, to make drinks.
