How should I pronounce "Beckham" of a person's name?

I know the pronunciation of Markham which is a city north of Toronto, It sounds kind of like "Markm". Should Beckham be pronounced like the word Markham? Thanks in advance,

Often heard in sports news and commentaries, it sounds more like the second answer. However, I prefer to emphasize more on the first syllabus of the word and pronounce it as BEK-uhm. Hope it helps.
