hes kindof strict and he says i should be modest and like a lady but i dont think that its not modest to have one. what can i say to c hange his mind?

hes really strict and thinks its immodest cuz it draws attention to the lower half of your body. i dont want it for that. i think it looks cute and stuff and i tried peircing it myself in the summer but it just got infected and i took it out. he doesnt no about it but he just thinks that alot of ppl die or get serious diseases from it. is their any websites or any information that will prove him wrong?

You can say "hey daddy, I've decided I'm old enough to make all my own decisions. I've gotten a job and my own apartment. I'll be paying all my own bills and supporting myself from now on." You can't do that yet? Then I guess your belly can go unpierced for a few more years. You can't soar like an eagle if you're leaping like a lemming.

Sorry, but I think a 14-year old is too young and immature to make the decision to get a piercing such as that. But it's not my opinion that counts, and not even yours. As you are a minor, you require the permission of a parent or guardian in order to get it done. I say, take the time to do the research yourself. Also, what are your reasons for wanting it? Is it just because it looks cool? You may change your mind later on. Once you're 18, if you still want to pierce your navel, nothing anyone can say can interfere with your choice. Until then, show some respect to your father who cares about you and only wants what's best for you.

Not that you are immodest but having a belly button piercing draws the eye to the belly button. It is very sexual to some people. I am not very strict but I wouldn't let my daughter have a belly button ring at 14, maybe 16 but definitely NOT 14. See if your dad will let you get the stick on jewels that look like you have a belly button ring. That way you aren't damaging your skin in any way but you still get a similar effect.

first of all think of the reasons you want one. if in the end its because YOU really want one and not cuz it looks sexy to guys who are probably too old for you anyways or because your friends have one then try asking again when youre 16 and your dad will probably be more willing to let you get one. whatever you do dont get it done behind some store or something crazy like that. you might end up getting an infection or something. i know it sounds like a long time but a 14 year old with a belly button ring is just askin for a stranger to think of her as a whore, not saying you are but it is a stigma

idk if u have ur ears peirced or not but try just saying its just the same as getting your ear peirced except for in a new generation form. People from 50's to 90's got earings now they get bellybutton rings their is no difference really and try to make some kind of bribe like u will only wear it in summer or on weekends don't try money bribes or chore bribes they NEVER work.
Hope this works it always works with my parents when i want something lol :)

I had to beg my mother when I was 15 to get my ears pierced! Yes, that was a long time ago.
Regardless, you are too young I think and your Dad is the one that is concerned about your health and the way you present yourself to boys and the world. There is no reason to rush. Maybe try to ask again when you are 16.

belly button piercing is so old school , but if you really want one wait until you don't need his permission to get it done. Make sure you are not allergic to metals of any kind cause if you are it could be a real mess, and if you play sports or rough house in anyway be extra careful it doesn't get ripped from your body..oooouuuuccccchhhhh!!!!!

Well, I would say don't push it, but if you REALLY want it, sit him down, and tell him exactly why you want one. Explain that it is something you want for years to come, not something you want just cause it's a trend (unless that is the case, then I recommend you don't get it). Eventually he may see how much you want to get this done, and let you. If not, at least you tried.

In the news there was a 18 yr old girl that wanted her nipple pierced. simple easy. it wasn't for her she ended up with a very bad infection and was given a short period of time to live unless she had her breast removed. remember she never thought it would happen to her.
