I'm a single 30 year old woman and I want to go to the opera. I can ask some people to go with me but I really like the idea of doing things on my own, alone. So far, I have gone to restaurants alone but this time I want to go to the opera. Before I go I want to know what you will think if you see a woman watching an opera alone.

i say go for it. i personally think its great that you are independent enough to go alone, that takes courage. dont worry about what other people think, do what makes you happy.

The same thing I think when I see people alone in the movies: "Hey, there's a person that wanted to see a movie without having to entertain another person." It shouldn't matter if you're alone, if you wanna go, go alone and don't worry about what others that are too afraid to go alone.

I think if I spent the amount of money it costs to go to the opera, I wouldn't be looking at you and saying "gee, that woman is alone". I would be looking through my funny glasses at the shown and you should be too.

I would think their intellectual. In any event, just ask some friends or even find some one with similiar interests. Going to anything alone can't be that much fun haha

I would think good for her. I will go anywhere alone, but I am not fond of eating out alone.
