I just got back from Riviera Maya. My service is Verizon. I was able to use my phone in Cancun and about halfway to Riviera Maya (about 30 miles south). When we were at the resort it would work sporadically, but with no consistency.

Lady is completely incorrect. Satellites have nothing to do with cell phones. NOTHING. You will be paying roaming charges down there - I saw that it is as much as $1US per minute.

FYI, the "GPS" feature in cell phones ALSO has nothing to do with satellites. Cellular networks are completely run by those towers you see everywhere.

Uhg, "it still have reach to tha satille" - who are you, and why do you inject false information wrapped in bad grammer into our Internet?
