If the team feels that he is not doing his job properly, they need to all get together and have a team meeting. Many things can be worked out with simple communication. The players parents can also get involved and participate in the meeting.

First, make sure YOU act as an adult. Don't start a huge controversy that is going to get the entire school in an uproar. Consider meeting, in person, with the athletic director or possibly the school principle and respectfully discuss your thoughts.

Unfortunately, unless you are directly involved with the team, parents have no say in team related decisions, ie. playcalling, playing time, practice schedule, and coaching personnel.

So with that said, keep in mind that technically your opinion or evaluation of the current coach means absolutely nothing to anyone who can change the situation.

Get the other teammates who share the same feelings as you and make an appointment with the principal or something to talk about it. Maybe even get your parents involved to send the message loud and clear so the principal will feel pressured to talk to the coach to settle things.

Tell the principal or your guidance counselor, and if they don't do anything, then you'll just have to live with it. A petition probably won't work unless everyone hates him/her.
